Watauga river fly fishing report.

February is here and we’re off to a good start. All sections of the South Holston river are now open to fishing. This is also the last month to use your annual Tennessee fishing license. Enough about that. Let’s talk fishing.

We’ve been fishing the Watauga river. Having some really good days on nymph rigs. Midges are working great under an indicator. We have been seeing more blue winged olives in the afternoons. The sizes have been ranging from 18-22. They haven’t been too picky on dry flies. Comparaduns, puff daddies, cripples, and emergers are all working well when the fish are up. Give us a call or send us email if you would like more info. As always, I hope to see you on the water.

Tight Lines,

Huck
